Another Day another tooth

Yup another tooth is breaking through. Garrett is working on his third tooth. It is one of his top teeth. Savannah is still toothless and I can’t see anything coming in. Ryan didn’t get his first tooth till he was about 11.5 months old either so Savannah is just taking after Ryan while Garrett wanted to be leading the pack on that one. The kids are all doing great otherwise.

I did weigh them the other day on our wii and Ryan is weighing in at 30# Garrett just under 20# and Savannah just under 16#. Which is really weird because that is what the twins were at their  9 month check up. I am hoping that they have grown a little since then. Savannah is such a little thing though I am afraid they are going to tell me to try and fatten her up. I think she is going to take after her cousins Grayce and Katelyn (who are twins). They are both small petite things and were always small for their age. I am not sure now but I am sure they are catching up.

Oh other news Garrett is able to stand by himself for a very small amount of time. I will stand him up and let go and if he doesn’t realize I let go he will just stand there once he realizes he is doing it he sits down. I am in trouble once he realizes ho to walk. Savannah does use our stools as a walker which is too cute. She will just sit and walk around the kitchen and then when she gets stuck she lets you know. Her and Ryan are very alike in that department. Well anyway I am sure many things will happen this week that I can write about. I know that in about a week and a half Ryan goes to the dentist for the first time. It should be fun since he likes to brush his teeth on his own with no help. I even tried flossing and he wanted to do it.

Good night for now.

Twins

I have not had a password to this since it messed up so now that it is fixed I a here to tell you all what has been going on here in the house with the twins. They are doing great they are now 11.5 weeks. Time sure does fly.  We went to their 2 month appointment on May 26th and man they are getting big. Savannah was 7 lbs 11 oz 20 1/4 in  and Garrett was 8 lbs 10 oz 21 in.

Since their appointment they just seemed to be getting bigger and bigger. They are still small compared to other babies their age but they are now in new born clothes. I finally put away the preemie clothes, it was a little bittersweet since it means they are growing up but yay they are getting bigger. As far as their personalities they are different. Garrett seems to be the watcher. He doesn’t like to just stare at people but he looks aroud like he is already trying to figure out how to climb and get into tings like his big brother. He has started to coo and it is so cute. Savannah is the opposite she loves to smile at people and could just stare at you for a long time.  Garrett loves to cuddle with people ok so they both do :) .

They have been sleeping pretty well and giving me a chance to catch up on my sleep. They go to bed around 10ish and usually start waking up about 545-6ish and the pacifiers come in handy til about 7 and then we get up and they eat and we start the day.

Here are some more pictures I hope you enjoy:

Yet another week has passed

We have reached week 27. 27 weeks

This last weekend was a bit crazy. It started with Friday and me having contractions. I still am only feeling a few of them. I ended up having three shots on Friday and on Saturday at about 3am the put me on an iv with Magnesium. It didn’t seem to work and they had to put me on other meds and I am now off of those. Sunday was an ok day as far as contractions they were still there but not as many as the past few days. The contractions have been coming and going but last night I needed another shot to stop the contractions. They were small but they were 2-3 minutes apart. So small I didn’t know I was having them. Well today I got another shot at 6 am and it didn’t work again. So when the doc came in he bumped up the Mag to double ( 4 grams per hour) what I was taking for only 1 hour and now I am on 3 grams per hour. They had to monitor the babies during that time and Savannah’s heart rate went down only for a few minutes. They kept the monitor on the babies an extra half hour and her heart rate was perfact. New IV

Since I am on Magnesium for a while they put a more permanent iv in my arm today. Sorry Chris I added a picture of it on here. I will not explain how that works as It can cause some people to not feel well. I love you Chris! It doesn’t have to be changed and the dressing only has to be cleaned and changed once a week. The doctors are doing everything they can to keep these babies in and I trust them and I feel very confident in them.

Please keep us in your prayers that the babies stay in the belly as long as possible.

Official Baby Names

Chris and I have had baby names in mind for a while but on the way to the hospital we made a decision. The only problem was Chris couldn’t agree with me on the spelling or middle name for our little girl. I finally got him to see that I was right :) I love you Chris. So thier names are:

Savannah Marie and Garrett McBride and every one knows Ryan Matthew.

I figured since the boys have initials or even names after family members that I would have savannah have the same middle initial as her brothers and that is how we got Marie. Garrett has the same initials and same middle name as Chris’ Uncle George, and Ryan has the same initials as Chris’ Dad.  So it is official.

Update 1/25/09

We are working on week #3 on Hospital bed rest here at Mary Birch and things are going well. I have started new hobbies and have enjoyed all the flowers and other gifts I have received. I really appreciate it. I am in week 25 and I will be 26 weeks on Tuesdays which will be a big milestone for these twins. I did get an ultrasound on Friday and things are going well. For me nothing changed which is great becuase that means that the contractions really aren’t doing much. The babies are growing Garrett is ahead of where he should be at a whopping 2 lbs and Savannah is at 1 lb 11 oz right where she should be. I finally had a breakdown Friday night and the nurse had to sit in the room with me and talk to me to calm me down. My contractions were going a bit crazy that day and I had ended up needing 3 shots that day and that means I have to go back on Magnesium and IVs. She told me she could call the oncall doc and see what he can do other then the Mag. He told her to up my Nifedipine and that seems to work. I had to get a shot early this morning but all other monitoring sessions only have showed 1 contraction at the most. Most of them have not even shown one. YAY!!! Now I just have to get my doc to say it is ok to get a message. The offer them here and as soon as I get the ok I am in there. Well until next time. 25 weeksGarrettSavannah
