Weekend Re-Wind

Typical life church Sunday... on TwitPicTwo weeks in a row I’ve had more people then I knew what to do with. So amazing! I’m so thankful to everyone that showed up. I was able to walk away from the 1st Sunday service today for the most part. Unfortunately, I walked away and I saw things not happening the way they should. I feel for the team because I came down pretty hard on them between services. The first service on Sunday is really our second since we have our first on Saturday night. Saturday is really the rehearsal. We should know exactly what’s going on for Sunday by this point.

The sound guy didn’t get the message that the video has a spoof at the end, so he cut the audio before it was over. Then on the third service, the video guys rolled the video, but didn’t switch the mixer to the mac so all we heard was audio. Thankfully it was a logo and they didn’t miss any of the meat. The spoof finally got played though.  <video embedded RSS’ers>

The service last night we didn’t have any exit music rolling while everyone was dismissed providing an awkward moment. I must give him a compliment though, it was his first weekend running solo and is a new guy. So more power to him and he shouldn’t worry, it comes over time.

While trying to put a back up projector up for our center screen we knocked down one of the mounts for the side projector. So I ended up taking that projector down and putting it on the center screen. I tried to run the back up on the side screen and it doesn’t like any image with white for some reason. I ended up just running the center and Stage Left.

During the final service, God was truly flowing in the congregation. People were really worshiping, more laughter, good interaction, then…Somehow the Stage Left speakers were shut off. I have no idea how or why. Nobody noticed, but me.

Ended service on a good note. Came home and watched the Chargers/Steelers game. Wow, taht was such an amazing game. Lots of play for the defense. Just wish the final score was in favor of the Chargers. 11-10 Steelers. Now off to spend time with my family. How’d your weekend go?

My new hair style

My sister in law and her twins came into town and they are hairstylists in training. I guess this is what two almost 4 year olds do when they are in charge of ones hair. They were very proud of what they did to my hair. They are so funny!

Karl Verkade Interviewed???

So, I was reading my reader tonight when I came across Karl’s blog. He mentioned he was interviewed by Chris over at Behind the Mixer. So I clicked the linky and was very impressed with what I read.

Karl is a very talented “Lead Worshiper” and a great friend. If you’re a tech team/Sound Guy/Worship Team person, you should take a look. Here’s the interview. If you really don’t care about guitars, sound, or otherwise, just go and read. One of Karl’s other talents is writing.

There is one tiny little thing that I disagree with Karl on though. The sound guy is not just a member of the worship team, he is a member of the tech team. With that being said, the Tech Team is not just the Tech Team, they are part of the worship team and vice verse. Folks, we all work together to achieve the same result. Some of us just focus on different areas IMHO. (That’s In My Humble Opinion for the unhip.)

I used to run Sound, now I’m a tech director. I miss running sound, and there are times I just want to reach over and adjust something on the board. There are times I do. Most of the time I shouldn’t.  Being a techy at heart (and employed as one by the US Government), I sometimes disagree with typical “band” members. “It sounds better this way” in regards to how it’s hooked up. But one thing that I’ve learned, a happy band is a good band. So rock with what you got.

Okay, that’s ramblngs on that. I love ya Karl. I’m glad to see you get some noteriety as it is WELL deserved!

Hi Mom!

I just wanted to showcase one of my silent readers here at The Stouts Online (notice no apostrophe). That would be the most wonderful mother in the world, Susanne S. Stout. (I love you too Stephanie and you’re also the most wonderful mother in the world!) Anyway, I just wanted to give a little shout out to my mother. [Read more →]

Memory Lane - Buying a Lemon

So, I was at the Temecula mall the other day and saw this:

So I decided to check out the guys website. Come to find out he’s got an ‘03 Ford F-350 with the new generation (of that model) 6.0L Powerstroke Diesel. I read his website and saw the issues that he had and it brought me back to my ‘03 Ford F-350 Powerstroke. I sent him an e-mail and he requested that I send him my story. So I figured I would do that by blogging about it, here it is:

Ryan is raising money

Ryan is part of a great swim school. Unfortunately one of the instructors sisters was diagnosed with cancer. The girl is 14 years old and a freshman at Vista Murrieta High School. The swim school is having a relay to raise money for the family for whatever they may need. They are currently traveling to LA four days a week for treatment. For those of you that are not from the valley that is at least a 2 hour drive without traffic and speeding ( as Chris was saying). So each child, depending on their skill level, has to perform their skill in 10 minutes.

Ryan’s skill is jumping into the pool to either Chris or I. They are asking for either a flat donation or a pledge per jumps. So if you were to pledge $.50 per jump and he jumps 10 times then that would be $5 that you would donate to the family. We are asking for some help Ryan is going to be doing his jumps on November 22nd at 3:50 pm.

If you are interested in pledging for how many jumps or for a certain amount just let us know. Oh and a big Thank You!

Ryan

Our little man is not feeling well. Yesterday he got sick in the morning and was fine the rest of the day. He went to swimming lessons and everything. He didn’t eat a lot though. Today he had breakfast and he was fine, we went to a play group and he drank some of my smoothie and ate part of a banana. He didn’t eat as much as he normally does for breakfast but I didn’t think anything of it. We got home and when I put him on the ground instead of running around the house he just laid down. I was going to feed him lunch but he was wanting to fall asleep. He got up and he didn’t want a snack I even gave him a cookie and he wouldn’t eat it. Then he got sick. My poor boy he wouldn’t eat dinner. We offered him jello and he wouldn’t eat it he would drink a pediasure though. I am sure it wasn’t the best thing for him to drink but it was better then nothing. I have a day out tomorrow so I hope that Ryan feels better tomorrow he also has a birthday party he is supposed to go to.  We shall see mommy loves you Ryan get better soon!

Busy week

Sorry folks it has been a busy week. Weekend rewind and other ramblings will come soon.

Oh, this was posted from my iPhone. How bout them apples Alex? :)

My week

This last week I had such a great week. I was feeling good I was able to eat and I was even able to clean. Well today I had a dentist appointment at 11 and ryan and I were getting ready to go and well I guess the babies wanted to let me know they were still there and they didn’t like eating Cream of Wheat for breakfast. So now I don’t know what they are going to be eating for breakfast tomorrow since they don’t like cereal either. I guess I will figure something out.

I also had a butt pain last night. I wish I could say that Chris was being the pain but I think it was because I was overdoing it yesterday.

Oh and all you guys that read this Chris told me to start blogging so you will have to deal with my morning sickness and pregnacy stories. You asked for it Chris!  :)
